The dictionary meaning of the work Obituary is - "a list of persons who have died; a sketch of a dead person's life". In Australia, we tend to follow the second of these descriptions when using the term Obituary. In the US, they favour the first description.

The Australian derivation of the term is often a lengthy narrative of a person's life, and we record Death Notices in newspapers. You are welcome to record either here.
